Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest at the altar during Mass in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ. Appropriate dress is required for this ministry. These ministers also bring communion to the sick and to those unable to attend Mass. After proper training for this sacred ministry, the minister is commissioned by the pastor at a Sunday Mass. Ministers are assigned to serve on weekends and feast days.
To serve as a Eucharistic Minister you must be a registered parishioner and Confirmed Catholic with a deep reverance for the Blessed Sacrament.
