Feast of St. Mark the Evangelist
Dear Parishioners,
Christ is risen!
Easter Greetings from Fr. Frank and myself! Peace and Good to all of you and your families, friends, and neighbors! We are staying low and staying strong.
We hope you are too!
We miss you! All of us look forward to the day of our coming together again as a faith community inside our cherished church on the corner of Danforth and Ramsey.
St. Bon’s aches without you! Yet we still pray daily inside the church building and hope that you are able to join us online for Sunday Mass at 11:00 AM in English and 5:30 PM
in Spanish at our website [stbonspaterson.org] or at our facebook page [facebook.com/stbonslive].
There are also weekday Masses. Check out the website.
Encourage other family members, friends, and neighbors to join us online!
This weekend we hear that wonderful section of St. Luke’s Gospel that tells of the Encounter between the Risen Christ and two disciples who do not at first recognize him. As they walk with this ‘stranger’ along the road, slowly they come to see him through
the eyes of faith!
Here at St. Bon’s, we often refer to ourselves as “a community of faith.” Faith takes time, just as Hope and Love take time! Like the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, we slowly come to see him in our midst.
During this time of global stress, our faith in the Lord deepens and broadens. It may truly be a test of wits to find him in the midst of your confined family, but he is there with you. If you live alone, it may be hard to find him in the silence of your living space, but he is there in the silence.
The two disciples plead with the Risen Lord to stay with them. We, too, pray together with that same request: Stay with us, Lord!
While our ministries stop during this difficult time, our ministry of prayer never ceases! As a community of faith, we believe in its power!
So – let us continue to pray for one another in the joyful hope that all will be well!
Peace and Good,
Fr. Daniel, O.F.M.
